OWNER/HEAD COACH

“The biggest misconception about CrossFit is that you have to be ‘fit’ in order to start. This is not true. When I started I weighed 115kg at 30% body fat, could not do a single pull-up or run a few hundred meters without stopping to rest. Had I waited to become fit before starting CrossFit, I’d probably be even worse off now. People should join CrossFit to get fit, to get stronger, faster and generally happier. No matter your age, sex, weight, size or fitness level, if you want a better quality of life through being fitter and healthier, we can show you how.”

“CrossFit is a conditioning programme that turns into a lifestyle where you are constantly trying to improve your diet and abilities. CrossFit gave me the confidence, not only in my physical abilities but also in my job and daily interaction with people. I love CrossFit because of the community, the people and the ‘feel good’ feeling you get after a workout.”

COACH

Ernie Malherbe

Ernie played high school sports and started CrossFit in 2013. He completed his CrossFit Level 1 in February 2013. Ernie has completed the following courses:

  • CrossFit Level 1

“I have always wanted to be fit and regard myself as an athlete, I just never had the game plan or know-how to get there, until I started doing CrossFit. Training, at a high intensity, with a group of people who share similar goals is what I love about this methodology of fitness. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of a fitness community that is focused on and succeeding in helping people achieve their health and lifestyle goals.”

COACH

Dean Robinson

Dean participated in cricket, rugby, hockey, soccer, golf and tennis  during his school years, including playing cricket, hockey and tennis at a provincial level. He also attended the Tuks Cricket Academy his first year out of school. Dean has complete the following courses:

  • CrossFit Level 1

“I’ve been a sportsman my whole life, and once I stopped competitive sport I needed something to push me to be an “athlete” again. When I came to the box, I found an atmosphere where not only is everyone pushing themselves to be better, but also everyone supports and is genuinely happy in each other persons success.”

“I love what CrossFit Kids stands for. Instilling a love of physical activity in children is key to them becoming well-rounded adults. CrossFit has taught me perseverence, self-discipline and team work and I have made lifelong friendships. Everyday in my Kids/Teens classes, I see them learning and experiencing this and more.”
